Every person has many different stories in their lives. At times, some of these stories present a challenge or great unhappiness. With the help of narrative practices, I explore with my clients how they position themselves in the story in a respectful, non-blaming approach. Together, we find ways to re-author such challenging stories. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives. I view problems as separate from clients and invite the many skills, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities of the clients, to assist them to reduce the impact of challenges in their lives.
During conversations with my clients, genuine curiosity enables me to ask the questions no-one else asks and in so doing, discover new possibilities and understanding. I believe that every challenge is an opportunity to embark on a new journey of creating meaning and new prospects.
